Rowena + Tak | Riviera Maya, Mexico | Toronto Destination Wedding Photography

09

It was so exciting to head south to Mexico where I met up with Rowena and Tak, and their family and friends at the Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe in the Riviera Maya.  The ceremony was held on the beach at the very far end of the resort, which really made the location feel intimate and secluded.  It was such a colorful wedding with the bright fuchsia bridesmaids dresses, the aqua ocean and the open blue sky as a backdrop.  Cocktails were served in the warm evening light (which I loved!) while Rowena and Tak surprised their guests with a traditional 4 man Mariachi Band.

The party started early with shots of Tequila and yummy Margaritas.  Despite the crazy wind storm blowing sand and hair in everyone’s faces and food, the reception was a blast.  Everyone hit the dance for some really fun photographs and later MORE tequila shots for EVERYONE!!  Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming – it was an event to remember.

Samantha + David | A Beth Torah Congregation Wedding, Toronto

08

Samantha and David’s wedding day was a joyful celebration chock-full of meaningful Jewish rituals, and symbolic gestures.  All of the festivities took place at the Beth Torah Congregation, in Toronto, a place that has special meaning to Samantha’s family.

Their was a real sense of sweetness to the early morning preparation, as Samantha was accompanied by her 6 year old daughter, Stevie, her mother and grandmother as she slipped into her wedding gown.  Having 4 generations of women together in one place at one time is a magical moment that I wish we all could experience.  Even more special is that Samantha and David are expecting their first child together.  This new family of three will soon be four and what a blessed life they will have surrounded by their loving family and friends.   My sincere congratulations go out to David and Samantha.  You have a beautiful growing family and it was a pleasure to document your day.

John + Julia | A Liberty Grand Wedding, Toronto

13

John & Julia didn’t quite get the winter wonderland they expected for their January nuptials!  The days preceding their wedding were mild and dry with no snow on the ground or in the forecast.  We thought we would take advantage of the “milder” January weather and get outside for some photos following their ceremony at The Old Mill.  Well… we didn’t anticipate how windy and cold it would actually feel on the Humber River Bridge, but we all braved the cold to get some fun shots with the muted winter sky as a backdrop.  Julia proved to be the toughest of us all, removing the warmth of her fur stole to get some beautiful shots of her in her dress.  Their reception followed at the always spectacular Liberty Grand where their guests tore up the dance floor of the Renaissance Room.  Congratulations to John & Julia, it was a pleasure to be part of your special day.

Ashley + Rob | An Evergreen Brickworks Engagement Shoot, Toronto

02

Who says November isn’t an ideal month for photographs?  You don’t need leaves for awesome photos.  Quite the contrary, we love the muted colours that November brings.  And if colour is your thing, well, it can come from pretty much anything – check out the vibrant blue backdrop we got from a construction bin.  Granted, November can be brisk, but if you dress appropriately, the sky is the limit.  We had a great day photographing Ashley and Rob.  It was a beautifully muted November day, and if Ashley and Rob were chilly, they certainly didn’t show it.  We are so happy with the collection of photographs from this shoot – Ashley and Rob were very comfortable in front of the camera, and their eyes popped out of every image.  Thanks for a great shoot guys – and congrats on your engagement!
