baby twins miles + miya | toronto baby photography

M&M_132_1

I had to post a few images of a recent shoot I did of twins Miles and Miya as they are just too adorable. Despite a few tears, falling asleep in mid-shoot, and lots of spitting up on our props, we managed to get some really cute shots in.  Photographing babies is always a challenge, but the memories created will last a lifetime.  Congratulations to parents Michelle and Michael on the birth of their babies on August 23rd , and congrats to my good friend Mouse on her gorgeous niece and nephew.

Val + Max | Chateau des Charmes Wedding, Niagara-on-the-Lake

Val_Max_a

Val and Max have amazing energy between them.  We found this out when we photographed their engagement session back in July.  They were so sweet and affectionate towards one another that we hardly had to give them any direction for their photographs, they just fit together so well and so naturally.  Their wedding day was no different – it was full of amazing energy, beautiful scenery, love and laughter.  Val and Max started the day getting ready at one of my favourite locations in Niagara (The Riverbend Inn).  Val looked absolutely stunning in her Melissa Sweet wedding gown and drop-dead gorgeous Valentino shoes, and their attention to detail was apparent in all of well-planned elements.  The weather also went to plan, with perfect blue skies for their ceremony, and lovely golden light for their cocktail hour and photographs before dinner and dancing, all held at Chateau des Charmes winery.  Val and Max, we wish you the best in life and love.  Thank you for asking us to document your amazing celebration.

Catherine + Jason | A Whistler Wedding, British Columbia

DSC_4128My sister got married!!!  My older sister Catherine has made it official, marrying her main squeeze, Jason, in a beautiful west coast wedding in Black Tusk Village, Whistler.  The setting was gorgeous…a quiet community of homes and cabins nestled amongst the forest on the outskirts of town.  As Cat’s maid of honor, I was on the other side of the camera for a change, but was happy to relax and enjoy the day with my family leaving all creative control to Krista!  My younger sister Ashleigh was also a bridesmaid and we were excited to be there with our sister on this very special day.  Catherine and Jason decided to see each other prior to the ceremony, so we arranged for them to have their “first look” on a little wooded trail near the water.  From there we took advantage of the amazing scenery, shooting their photos amongst the woods, train tracks, cliffs and trails of Black Tusk Village.  Their nuptials followed on the bank of a river with mountains serving as the back drop, a spectacular location for a quaint outdoor ceremony.  There were a few laughs during the ceremony when Jason pledged to be ‘faceful” instead of “faithful” and Cat put his ring on the wrong hand!  But, apart from that, the ceremony was perfect – short and sweet.  A tented reception followed where speeches were tearful (for me and the best man!) and we were entertained by my brother Marc-Andre’s impromptu guitar interlude where everyone sang and clapped along to a montage of cute love songs from The Beatles and other artists.  Dancing followed in the clubhouse and the party went on all hours of the night…so I was told!   A very special thanks to Krista and her dear friend, Sabrina Henry, who did an amazing job capturing the spirit of the day.

To Cat and Jason…congrats!  I’m so happy for the two of you; I was honoured to be such a big part of your wedding day.

Catherine + Jason | Photobooth Madness!

PH

Krista and I decided it would be fun to have a Photobooth at my sister, Cat’s, wedding in Whistler.  Little did we know how wild the Photobooth would actually end up. Cat and her (now) husband Jason scrounged up costumes, mullet wigs, boas and props, making this Photobooth a little on the crazy side!  If you look closely you can see me in a few shots, and even Krista is in there in the most unflattering bunny ears and Groucho Glasses.  (Sorry Krista!) The costumes and props really brought out the nutty side of the guests and once the photobooth was wrapped for the night these props made their way to the dance floor for some ridiculous dance shots!  Special thanks to Sabrina Henry who not only assisted Krista in shooting Catherine and Jason’s wedding, but for running the Photobooth and capturing some of the craziest photos of the day.

Meghan + Kevin | Andrew Richard Design Building, Toronto

M&K_1931

After having a great time with Meghan and Kevin during their engagement shoot this summer, we were really looking forward to their wedding!  We knew that they had a lot planned for their day, but had no idea what we were actually in for.  It was an amazing non-stop day from start to finish, combining traditional Chinese elements with modern, urban flair.  We were really excited by the opportunity to shoot in the Andrew Richard Designs buiding, where the  ceremony was held.  The space was beautiful –  a clean, white on white palette with the most amazing natural light spilling in.   Considering it was raining on and off all day, we drew inspiration from the space for a creative indoor shoot following the nuptials.  We so enjoyed working with Meghan and Kevin and their wedding party on their wedding day.  Meghan’s face was lit with happiness as she made her way down the aisle, and their ceremony and the rest of the day continued in the same vein – full of laughter.  Their reception followed at Shangri-La Banquet Hall where we set up a Photo Booth for all their guests to enjoy. If you have yet to see their Photo Booth blog posting, be sure to take a peak on the following link…Meghan + Kevin Photo Booth. We LOVE the photo booth because it seems to bring out all of the personalities of the guests, which we are able to capture on camera as amazing memories.  Meghan + Kevin, we hope you enjoy the memories from your day!  Thank you for including us.
