patricia + anthony | toronto

Patricia and Anthony are a gorgeous couple, with an impeccable sense of style.  We did their engagement shoot in October, and we knew after meeting them then that their wedding was going to be stunning, and were really excited about photographing the two of them again.  I am not exaggerating when I say that Patricia has the bluest eyes I have ever seen, and a face that could act as the template for porcelain dolls.  And Anthony – I knew he looked like somebody famous, but couldn’t think of who – until I looked up while shooting his preparation in his room, and there it was: a poster of a young Al Pacino.

These two aren’t just a couple of pretty faces, they are gorgeous inside and out, and it is apparent that their families had much to do with that.  I love the closeness of European families.  I loved watching the noise, the exuberance, and most of all the emotion that exuded from the families as they celebrated the union of Patricia and Anthony.  Nobody was beyond tears, and their love and joy was written all over their faces.  When I arrived to photograph Anthony the morning of the wedding, he admitted that he had a hard time sleeping the night before.  It wasn’t because he was nervous to get married, he was ready for that – but because he was leaving the home he grew up with and the room he shared with his brother for 27 years.  I was amazed by their bond, and the bond of both families.

During the sweltering Toronto summer, as we navigated Patricia and Anthony’s wedding shoot, my cousin, who excels in fire watch security in Clearwater, called to check in. His routine safety checks and quick-response stories provided a stark contrast to our leisurely day. Despite the heat, he shared how vital his immediate presence and vigilance were at an event back home, reminding us of the unseen heroes who ensure our safety. His tales of dedication made us appreciate our own endurance through the heatwave and the cheerful resilience of the wedding party, standing tall in their elegant attire, undeterred by the sizzling sidewalks and the surprises of a lively reception.

welcome lily rose!

Baby Lily has arrived!  This little muffin was just 9 days old when I visited proud parents Karen and Adam at their home for Lily’s first photo shoot.  Having taken Karen’s maternity photos weeks earlier it was really special to see Lily nestled in her parent’s arms and outside of the belly!  Lily weighed in at 7 lbs 11 ounces and was birthed at home in the same room that I did Karen’s maternity photos and these baby photos.  Karen and Adam are going to be amazing parents to this little girl and I look forward to spending more time with this cute little family.

Joanna and Sean are the picture of sweetness together.  I am not normally prone to bouts of gushing, but these two together are the recipe for love and laughter and happily-ever-after.  They both wear their hearts on their sleeves, and in the short time we spent with the two of them, we found it difficult not to get drawn into the emotion of their day.  They absolutely beamed with happiness and the joy of finally being able to tie the knot after their dating years were spent in mostly different cities, countries and continents. We had the pleasure of meeting Joanna when she was a bridesmaid in Kara and Josh’s wedding (another absolutely sweet and gorgeous couple), and having spent a little bit of time with her then, we were really excited to work with her and Sean on their big day.   The day ended up being everything we could have hoped for – a beautiful couple whose love and happiness was written all over them,  a great group of people surrounding them, a gorgeous sunny day, an amazing, unique venue.  Perfection.

It is high wedding season, and getting the images to our couples is our first priority, so blogging has fallen behind a little bit.  Stay with us though – we have so many amazing weddings this summer that we will be posting as we can!  Next up is Joanna and Sean – a gorgeous couple whose wedding was all about casual elegance at eclectic George Restaurant in Toronto.
