We were so excited to photograph Jackie and Jon’s wedding.  They seemed to be as excited about their pictures as we were, and that is always a good thing!  We had an amazing day with them, and were soooo lucky when the rain that was pouring down all day stopped just in time for us to start the formal photos, and started down-pouring again just as we got in our cars headed for the reception.  Phew!  The two of them were so happy, and and it was impossible not to have a good time around the couple and their wedding party, who were totally goofy and weren’t afraid to show it.  We love goofy – goofy makes for fun photos:)  The reception was held at the very contemporary Toronto Board of Trade, catered by Oliver and Bonacini, who provided a scrumptious summer barbeque twist to the menu. After dinner and speeches,  the guests tore up the dance floor very enthusiastically, all getting in the groove during dinner as part of the kissing game.  Jackie and Jon, we had a great time with you on your big day.  Thank you for asking us to be a part of it.  We hope you enjoy your photos!

Cindy and Adrian are getting married in Las Vegas next summer!  Oh how we wish we could join them (booo to resort restrictions!)  They were so cute together, and Cindy made us laugh with her nervous giggle any time we asked her to pose.  She is gorgeous, and shouldn’t feel self-conscious at all playing model!  Here are a sampling of the many photographs taken on the day. We photographed Sarah and Mike on a sunny, beautiful day…one of the few weddings in July that did not have rain in the forecast!  Sarah looked stunning as she walked down the aisle of Glenview Presbyterian Church.  Mike surprised everybody by arriving at the ceremony on time (it came out in the speeches that being on time is not one of Mike’s strengths, and the bets were on as to whether he would make it in time for his own wedding).  He made it, and the ceremony went off without a hitch.  It was a beautiful ceremony , and once completed the bride and groom hopped into a vintage white Mini Cooper to head to their reception at the Rosedale Valley Golf Club.  The trees and vista made for a beautiful backdrop for a quick few photos before cocktails and dinner.  It was a very elegant evening enjoyed by everyone.  Sarah and Mike, it was a pleasure to be part of your day!

Having photographed Kelly and Drew’s engagement session, we knew that their wedding would be a a beautiful, unique and nontraditional day.  We were also so excited to be working with planner extraordinaire, Lisa Allain of Visions of Platinum & Garnet, who always does an amazing job to make sure the day goes off perfectly.  Kelly and Drew arranged to first see each other outside of the gates of The Distillery, where their ceremony and reception would follow at eclectic Archeo Restaurant. We were excited to stumble upon an old trailer during a scout, which we knew would be an awesome backdrop for some photographs to complement the corridors of the The Distillery District.  Their ceremony took place on the Archeo patio followed by casual cocktails, dinner (which included poutine on the menu – YUM), and homemade cookies for a little personal touch.   Thanks again to Lisa Allain, and our congratulations to Kelly and Drew on their very special day!

We had another fun and colorful engagement shoot, this time with Sandro and Michelle on the Toronto Island.  Talk about a good-looking couple!  Michelle was a little nervous but the camera definitely loves her, and Sandro loves the camera!  He continually made us smile with his perfect camera gaze!  We came across a space-like jungle gym, which they had no problem climbing on for some fun shots, and we even borrowed a tandem bike from a super nice couple passing by.  I think we got the photo nerves out of the way for Michelle and we know you both will be camera ready for your nuptials in October. Looking forward to it!

There is nothing more exciting then baby news from a friend.  Having known Jackie and Kevin for many years, I couldn’t have been happier for them.  With just a few weeks to go before the arrival of their little Virgo, I knew an outdoor location in the evening light would be perfect for their shoot.  Jackie looked absolutely radiant in the golden fields and has a body that most non-pregnant woman would envy! Kevin was all smiles and the evening shoot was as simple as a “walk in the park”.  I’m so happy for the two of you, and KC and I are so excited to meet Baby Dawkins.

We always say that although we can execute beautiful photographs, it’s up to the couple to let their personalities and chemistry shine through the lens.  Val and Max were a dream to photograph.  They were so cute, playful and carefree with one another, that they made our job very easy.  We walked, we laughed, we photographed.  What a perfect way to get to know a couple before shooting their wedding.  Keep watch for their upcoming wedding photos from Niagara-on-the-Lake later this month.  And, Val & Max…we can’t wait to photograph you two again!

Due to challenging weather conditions throughout the year, the possibility of actually being able to photograph Kelly and Drew’s engagement session was undetermined right to the last moment.  About a week before their wedding, we finally beat the rain, and ended up having a beautiful evening shoot with nice warm warm light instead of the thundershowers that were in the forecast.  We photographed Kelly and Drew right around their condo downtown, and had a great time with this fun, down-to-earth  couple, who were up for anything.  Please stay tuned for their wedding photos, which will be up on our blog very soon!
