Just 6 days after our maternity shoot, Baby Emma was born!  I was so excited to meet this little bean that weighed in at just 6lbs 2 oz.  Of course she is super-cute like her mommy with very big expressive eyes.

Congratulations again to new mommy Maricar and daddy Cyril.  Your daughter is simply adorable, and I look forward to photographing her again as she gets a little bigger:)

I met with first-time parents to be Julie and Sean at their home outside of Toronto for their maternity shoot.  The weather was iffy to say the least and we were very close to rescheduling.  Lucky for us the rain held off and we were blessed with a beautiful overcast sky.  Julie was radiant with that mom-to-be glow and to her surprise her baby bump was looking a little tiny in the photos!  An added belt to her outfit popped her belly a little more and we were good to go.   Julie and Sean were great to work with and they were more then willing to bushwhack a little to get to the good spots!  I look forward to hearing about the arrival of their little one in November and am even more excited to meet and photograph their bundle of joy.

This is an exciting time in any ones life, but seems extra special for Natasha considering babies are her forte!  Natasha is one of the founding members of Bebo Mia, Toronto’s foremost leader in fertility, pregnancy and parenting support.  Not only is she the Director of Fertility, but also a Birth Doula, and HypnoBirthing Practitioner.   I met with Natasha and her husband Chris on their rooftop patio where we hoped to capture the evening’s golden light.  Lucky for us the weather cooperated and Natasha had that mother-to-be glow about her.  We joked over her hesitation for the cloth wrap, but once in it, she rocked it!  Chris was a great help fluffing the cloth and helping it to catch the wind while Natasha posed and I snapped away.  It turned out to be a fun evening for the three of us and I look forward to our next shoot once their little bundle arrives.  For more information on Bebo Mia and their services, be sure to check out their website and video.  They are awesome!

Nearly 2 years after I photographed their wedding, I received a phone call from Adam and Karen letting me know they were expecting! I couldn’t be happier for them, and I was excited to document this extraordinary moment in their lives together.  Having just had my own baby 10 weeks ago, I could totally relate to everything Karen and Adam were experiencing, and I really wanted to capture the beauty of their pregnancy.

Both Karen and Adam were beaming with the excitement of the arrival of their little bean, and it was really special for me to be there to witness and encapsulate that energy through the lens.  Karen looked absolutely radiant and beautiful and Adam stood sideline with supportive and encouraging comments…so cute!

Karen and Adam, I’m so happy for you two and I can’t wait to meet and photograph your new addition in the weeks to come.  Good luck with your delivery and perhaps we can celebrate his/her arrival with a celebratory Nutella sandwich!

There is nothing more exciting then baby news from a friend.  Having known Jackie and Kevin for many years, I couldn’t have been happier for them.  With just a few weeks to go before the arrival of their little Virgo, I knew an outdoor location in the evening light would be perfect for their shoot.  Jackie looked absolutely radiant in the golden fields and has a body that most non-pregnant woman would envy! Kevin was all smiles and the evening shoot was as simple as a “walk in the park”.  I’m so happy for the two of you, and KC and I are so excited to meet Baby Dawkins.

You may remember Sarah – she and her husband Peter got married at Lakewinds Country Manor in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and their beautiful wedding with all of its amazing personal touches was featured on Wedluxe Magazine’s blog.  Images from that amazing day can be found here. Well, life has progressed for Sarah and Peter, and they very recently they had their first baby!  We were so excited when Sarah asked us to take the first photos of baby Samantha – though Samantha was still “behind he scenes” (she made her grand entrance a short time after these photos were taken).   For this session, I thought it would be nice to photograph some of it outdoors, as Sarah and Peter  are avid outdoors-people, with a deep love of nature.  Sarah looked stunning and radiant in her last weeks of pregnancy, and it was the perfect setting.  Congratulations to both of you on the addition of Baby Samantha to your family!  We can’t wait to meet her!

Crystal and I have been friends for *gulp*almost 30 years.  Though we have lived apart longer than we have lived in the same city, our friendship has stood the test of time, and I consider Crystal my sister-friend.  It was my pleasure and honour to document this very special time in her life  (I got more than a little bit emotional). The images were taken in an awesome studio in the market square area of Winnipeg (Level 3 Studios), and I love love love the results that were achieved with natural light in the hallway outside the studio.  Crystal, my friend, you were beautiful pregnant, and I am so grateful to have been able to share this time with you.  I can’t wait to meet little Emmett and to smoosh him with hugs and kisses. He is one lucky little boy to have been blessed with you and Don as parents.

After shooting Lori + Jon’s wedding in 2007, we were so excited to hear that the couple was expecting their first baby.  We were equally thrilled to be able to document this very exciting time in their life.  This shoot was done 2 weeks before Baby’s due date, and Lori was stunning as usual – totally glowing her pregnancy glow.  Just like their wedding day, Lori and Jon were fantastic to photograph because they were so relaxed and were up for any idea we threw at them.  At one point, we asked Lori to stand on a window ledge with her back to a busy parking lot wearing nothing but a see-through wrap, and she didn’t even hesitate.  In the name of good photos, she didn’t mind that she was mooning half of Toronto.  LOVE that:)

Since the shoot, Baby Fynn made his grand entrance into the world.  Congratulations Lori and Jon!  We can’t wait to meet the little guy.
